. .

YAMPA RIVER

Box Elder Site - 9/25/84

Air photos - no noticeable changes in channel morphology between
1951 photos and 1982 photos. Noticeable side canyon input at
Warm Springs (1965). Bars and vegetation appear to have been
stable over Photo span with loss of minor bar at mouth of Yampa.
Flow width measurements may be difficult due to deep canyons and
extensive shadows. Plotted cross sections Show very little
change in bottom elevation between flows. LongitUdinal profiles
Should be plotted for different flows.

Conclusion: Suitable site for PHABSIM.

\

Cleopatra's Couch and Replicate Site (Spawning Site) - 9/25/84

Air photos - ve~ minor indications of more numerous bars
(midchannel) on 1961 air photos relative ~o 1982 photos in reaCh
approximately 1.5 miles downstream of Cleopatra's COUCh reach.
Cross section plotting has not been done for differing flow
conditions and should be completed. Also, longitudinal profiles
need tO'be plotted and compared for differing flows.

Conclusion: Channel stability is assumed.
