On November 14, 1995, the contractor (R.W. Jones) began clearing and grubbing operations,
using a Cat D6 dozer and a Case 40 trackhoe excavator.
November 15, 1995, the contractor began stripping (6-inches) operations in waste area and
' structure excavation areas using a Cat D6 dozer. The excavation of evaporation ponds for water
quality control was also initiated.
Coffer Djim Construction and Removal
On November 20, 1995, the contractor began upstream (Forebay structure location) coffer dam
t construction. A Cat D6 dozer, Case 40 trackhoe, Clark 175B front end loader and a 12 cubic
yard end dump truck were used to construct the coffer dam.
t November 25, 1995, the contractor completed construction of the upstream coffer dam.
' December 13, 1995, the contractor set 10-foot sections of "K" rails (median barriers) and sand
bags to divert the flow of water from the downstream coffer dam. A Cat D6 dozer pushed
excavated material from entrance structure excavation to begin the downstream coffer dam
' construction. A Cat D6 dozer, Case 40 trackhoe, Clark 175B front end loader and a 12 cubic
yard end dump truck were used to construct the coffer dam.
' January 4, 1996, the contractor completed construction of the downstream coffer dam.
April 17, 1996, contractor begins removal of downstream coffer dam. Contractor completes
' removal on April 18, 1996.
April 29, 1996, contractor removes upstream coffer dam.
