Support for Recovery Efforts

Two-thirds of all respondents supported efforts to recover the four endangered fish; 13% were
neutral; and 21 % opposed efforts to recover the fish (Figure 21), Of those who were negative,
many commented that they did not support efforts to recover the fish because they did not
believe that they were endangered,

As would be expected from previous findings, more environmental group members (82%)
supported efforts to recover the four endangered fish than the general public (70%), anglers
(61%), and elected officials (60%) (Figure 22),
