Committee <br />June 2003 <br />projection agrees fairly closely with projections in the Water Needs Assessment - 3,460 ac- <br />ft/yr (high forecast with conservation in 2020 and 3,920 ac-ft/yr in 2040). <br />County population outside of St. Charles Mesa (and excluding Pueblo and Pueblo West) is <br />estimated to be 1,330 persons, within the SECWCD boundaries. These people reside in <br />Avondale, North Avondale, and Boone, as well as unincorporated areas. Present and future <br />water demands of these areas are estimated to be 0.27 mgd (300 ac-ft/yr) and 0.30 mgd (340 <br />ac-ftlyr) in 2020, respectively. <br />3.1.3.2 Otero County <br />Large water suppliers in Otero County include LaJunta, Rocky Ford, and Fowler, which <br />account for 85 percent of the current population in the County within the SECWCD (17,100 <br />persons). Smaller providers include Manzanola, Town of Swink, South Swink Water <br />Company, Hancock Water Company, and Parkdale Water Company.
