~ <br />~ <br />SCOPE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br />CWCB staff will direct the. The contract will on~ly be for the final design of detention dam facility, <br />identifcatian of pennit requirements and nece:ssary {and acquisition, as developed for the Bosl~y Wash <br />Drainage Master Plan. <br />The Bosley Wash Watershed is located in Me:~a Counry. Bosley Wash is a right bank tributary of the <br />Colorado River. The watershed experienced major flooding during July and August 1999. As a result of <br />concerns and complaints from local residents, the GJDD and Mesa County requested the assistance of the <br />CWCB in the implementation of flood protecticm measures on Bosley Wash. The detention dam is the <br />preferred flood protection alternative. <br />PAYMENT <br />The CWCB contract shall be a fixed fee contr~ict in the amount of $50,000 for the performance tasks and <br />deliverables. The CWCB must approve the consultanYs project costs proposal. <br />OBJECTIVE <br />The objective of this Scope is to develop a fin~il project design, identify permit requirements, compute <br />project construction quantities and costs, and ~prepare bid and construction documents, Right-of-Way <br />parcel maps for the construction of the flood pirotection/detention dam on Bosley Wash. The dam design <br />shall be for a minimurn of 100-year flood protection level and designed to State dam safety standards for a <br />Minor, Class II dam. <br />PROJECT PERFORMANCE TASKS <br />Following is an outline of representative tasks that the Consultant shall perform in order to fulfill the <br />Objective of this Scope. <br />A. Co0lect Information and Reviews (Cos1t $5,000) <br />1. Review the designated Bosley Wash Flloodplain Information and Mesa County Flood Insurance <br />Study for the study watershed. <br />2. Secure the Bosley Wash Drainage Ma;~ter Plan for: <br />• Phase I Watershed Floodplain [)eline~tion dated July 2002; <br />• Phase II Alternative Drainage F,acility Evaluation dated November 2002; and <br />• Phase III Preliminary Design dated July 2003. <br />3. Review the Watershed Work Plan for thie Indian Wash Watershed; Mesa County, Colorado dated <br />September 1961. <br />4. Contact appropriate CWCB, GJDD, County, City, and/or Town officials via telephone or rr~eeting to <br />obtain as much information as possible regarding the project. <br />5. May contact private citizens and others only in cases where local officials provide a contact list for <br />project assistance. <br />6. Coordinate with GJDD to develop the s~:ope of surveying and geo4echnical investigations that will <br />be required for the project design. GJDD will provide all field data including but not limited to <br />mapping and surveys. GJDD has aerial photographs for the watershed dated 2001. GJDD will also <br />provide geotechnical information for the project site. <br />
