well legislation, post pumping depletions, CWCB police 18
implementation, water quality grants for small communities, water
quality fee increases, water efficiency programs: water construction
fund. Rep. Mary Hodge replaced in house by Kevin Briolla. Pay him a
visit and invite him to roundtable.
Bill Jerke: Jim Isgar back in Senate for House? Kathleen Curry for
house?
Dianne: Yes, most likely so. Terrance Carrol soft spoken, nice man.
Education Liaison Report: No report. Todd Doherty: Nicole Seltzer has
a signed contract for the Headwaters edition.
Non-Consumptive Sub-Committee: Tom Iseman: Has not made a lot of
progress since last presentation to round table. Should have preliminai-
mapping done in Januaiy. Have said that we will bring back our
approach and studies. Contractor has been making progress. And believe
that this is vein- important piece as per environment and rec: this can
help us identify which projects we can develop and can add support
from the rec and environmental communities such as Halligan and DU
projects. So we can see where consumptive and nonconsumptive needs
can intertwine, and this study will help us see how to build support for
consumptive needs.
Bill Jerke: Clear that these projects work.
Phreatophyte Sub-Committee: Bob Streeter: Reported last month that
the working group has put together a draft plan that has been reviewed
by Tamarisk Coalition and there will be a meeting this Friday in Fort
Morgan to finalize this draft plan. Will bring this back to the roundtable.
Bill Jerke: Weld County Govt voted tentatively to put $0,000 in the
phreatophyte program. This is not taken lightly because government is
laying off, yet we managed to approve this funding.
John Metli: Was on West Slope, they are using a bug?
Bob Streeter: This is because the tamarisk is so thick on the ivestslope.
Alternative Ag Transfer Methods Sub-Committee: Don Ament:
Appreciate support of letter to CWCB. Metro Roundtable also wrote
letter of support that went forward to CWCB for consideration. On the
agenda for CWCB November 18 meeting.
Todd Doherty: Staff recommendation out on grant applications, this
grant application is getting a staff recommendation for full funding.
Impressed at team's effort.
Bill Jerke: Corn GroNvers are applicant, yes?
Mark Sponser: Yes, and thank you for all the efforts of the team. While
Corn Growers is the named applicant, this was a team effort. This does
not stop with the boundaries of the corn producers. Thank you for
support.
• New item: Round Table Chairs to have phone conference in late
November: what is expected in this conference? Also would like to
know how round table would like to be represented?
