SECTIONFQUR <br />Formulation of Alternatives <br />3. The pump station will contain four vertical line-shaft pumps that will extend into the wet <br />well below the pump room. Two pumps will be dedicated to the North Branch Ditch <br />pipeline using 60 horsepower motors, the other two pumps will be dedicated to the Upper <br />Lateral pipeline and have 75 horsepower motors. <br />4. Total pumping capacity using both pumps for the North Branch Ditch pipeline will be <br />6,800 gpm (3,400 gpm each pump) and for the Upper Lateral pipeline will be 5,400 gpm <br />(2,700 gpm each pump). <br />The North Branch Ditch pipeline will consist of a 24-inch diameter pipe and will be 3501inear <br />feet long. It will consist of steel pipe at the pump station and will convert to polyvinyl chloride <br />(PVC) within a few feet of the pump station to the discharge location. There will be only one <br />discharge structure located along the pipeline. <br />The second pipeline will have various pipe diameters along its alignment beginning as a 21-inch <br />diameter pipe at the pump station and then will reduce down to 18-inch and then to 12-inch <br />diameter. The pipeline will have several discharge locations and will extend over 3,4001inear <br />feet to the Upper Lateral discharge location.
