SECTIONFIVE Selection of Alternative and Financial Plan <br />5.1 NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION <br />Based on the financial, institutional, and social impacts, Alternative 2 -Maintenance was <br />selected as the preferred alternative for the project. The preferred alternative was selected based <br />on constructability, costs, reliability, reduced impact to the environment, and provision for the <br />continued use of the asset (historic water yield). <br />5.2 LAND AND RIGHT-OF-WAY REQUIREMENTS <br />The Company owns or has easements to construct the project in its entirety. The Company owns <br />the land where the pump station will be constructed. The Company has or will have easements <br />from Boulder County Open Space and an adjacent land owner to construct the delivery pipeline. <br />5.3 PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE <br />Table 5-1 is the schedule for implementing this project. <br />Table 5-1 <br />Project Implementation Schedule <br />~~~ <br />~~~ <br />Date Action <br />October 2008 Submit Feasibility Study to CWCB <br />November 2008 Complete the Design Revisions <br />December tart Construction <br />May~969~ Q l Complete Construction <br />5.4 COST ESTIMATE <br />The estimate of construction associated with the selected alternative is based on the present <br />Contractor's estimated cost escalated to reflect the construction climate at the time of the <br />submission of this report. URS also added 30% contingency for the revised design which will be <br />completed by November 2008. Table 5-2 summarizes the costs estimated for this project. <br />~S 5-1 <br />
