Nicole Seltzer reviewed the three task s in the FY2009 Scope of Work. The group
clarified points, made a few changes to la nguage and discussed the method of carrying
out each task. Below are the major points made for each task:
Task 1: Website refi nement and maintenance
Susan Lesovsky will remain the point of contact at the State to upload things to the
website. CFWE and the Workgroup’s role wi ll be to compile and decide upon what is
needed for the site. An example of the t ype of information that could go up would be
highlights from the Roundtable meetings, whic h would change with each meeting. Also,
the minutes from each meeting are a month behi nd, and it would be nice to have content
on the major decisions from each meeting up soon after the meeting.
This raised the discussion of what the Edu cation Liaisons’ role is. The Workgroup needs
to be sure the liaisons are clear about their role and know they have support in the
workgroup and CFWE to accomplish their task s. Rita Crumpton will share with the
group the “job description” she compiled originally.
DNR/CWCB and the workgroup compiled many di stribution lists for educating people
about the Roundtables. This task also shoul d accomplish a strategy for disseminating this
information in a common format from each Roundtable. Jeff Crane gave an update on
the database of water-interested non-profits th at he was tasked with creating in FY2008.
That list is complete and has been incor porated into DNR’s contact database. Susan
Lesovsky will send the list that Jeff submitted to the workgroup .
With all of these lists, the workgroup should also discuss which groups (elected officials,
business leaders, media, etc) should get which information and how often. The group
also cautioned to be careful about electronic communication as we do not want to “over
do” it.
Task 2: Education of the public on the I BCC process and activities and creation of a
mechanism for public input/feedback
DNR, the Roundtables and CSU Extensi on have put together good background
information on the Roundtables. CFWE will re view this information, edit as necessary
and give all the same “look and feel”. This information will then be made available to
the Roundtable members for their use in speaking to groups in their basins.
There was some discussion of Task 2.5: The cr eation of an external speakers bureau (RT
members who have agreed to perform this ro le) and use of Colorado’s media to spread
the word about the IBCC and RT process and accomplishments. Speaking to the media
and conducting presentations about the Roundtab les is not the wor kgroup’s role. Steve
