Wadsworth Blvd.
Littleton, CO 80128
Via email chandler.i.neter(a~usace.army.mil and U.S. Mail
Re: Northern Integrated Supply Project Draft Environmental Impact Statement
Dear Mr. Peter:
On behalf of the Downtov~m Business Association of Fort Collins, Colorado, I am writing
to request au extension of 90 days, or until October 28, 2008, of the public comment
period for the Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP) Draft Environmental Impact
Statement (DEIS). The Corps has the authority to extend the continent period pursuant to
33 CFR Part 325 and 40 CFR Part 1500.
The Downtown Business Association is organized to promote Downtown Fort Collins
and help it thrive. The Poudre River runs through Downtown Fort Collins and is a vital
asset. Any impact that Glade Reservoir has on the Downtown River Corridor will also
have a major impact on the Central Business District of Fort Collins.
It is extremely important that the DEIS be given adequate time for review, and as summer
is the busiest season for the Downtown Business Association; we do not feel that the
original timeline is sufficient. We feel that an extension of 90 days will provide the time
needed by all the entities to examine how the River and surrounding precious resources
may be affected by the Glade Reservoir project.
Thank you foi• your consideration.
Kevin Jones
President
Downtown Business Association
•
