RE: Comment Pexiod for NISP DEIS
Dear Chandler:
The City of Greeley requests a 90-day extension (to October 28, 2008) of the public
continent period for the Northern Integrated Supply Project ("]VISA") Draft
Environmental Impact Statement ("DEIS"). The Corps has authority to extend the
comment period pursuant to 33 CFR Part 325, Appendix B, and 40 CFR § 1506.10.
NISP has the potential to impact certain significant Greeley capital projects, including the
City's proposed enlargement of Milton Seaman Reservoir and the Bellvue finished water
transmission line, as well as the City itself. The NISP' DEIS and accompanying support
documents are lengthy and complicated. Greeley has very limited staff available to
review such documents. For these reasons, Greeley respectfully requests the Corps to
extend the continent period on the NISP DEIS 90 days, until October 28, 2008.
