Water Supply Reserve Account -Grant Application Form <br />Form Revised May 2007 <br />Preparation for Task 3: outsloping of downstream slope of dam <br />Tack <br />• Description of task: <br />Outsloping of downstream slope of dam at Battlement Reservoir #3 <br />• Method or procedure that will be used or followed to accomplish the task and identify who will undertake <br />the task: <br />Heavy equipment construction by the BOR design and construction crew (See Engineering Figures) <br />• Description of the major deliverables/products that will be produced upon successful completion of the <br />task: <br />Preparation for Task 4: revegetation of disturbed areas <br />Task 4 <br />• Description of task: <br />Revegetation of disturbed areas at Battlement Reservoir #3 <br />• Method or procedure that will be used or followed to accomplish the task and identify who will undertake <br />the task: <br />Heavy equipment construction of approximately 7000 square feet of material by the BOR design and <br />construction crew (See Engineering Figures) <br />• Description of the major deliverables/products that will be produced upon successful completion of the <br />task: <br />Completion of Tasks 1-4 will result in the following: <br />1)Non-consumptive use of 6 additional surface acres for a total of 16 surface acres <br />2) Development of native CRC trout fishery and brood stock refugia <br />3) Increased recreational use by anglers and other outdoor enthusiasts <br />4) Storage of water will help recharge the aquifers that the Towns of Parachute and <br />Battlement Mesa depend on for their water supply (originates from springs below the White <br />River National Forest) <br />II. Personnel <br />Provide a list of key water activity/project participants and their qualifications to accomplish the water <br />activity/project. If specific individuals or firms have not yet been identified indicate the types of expertise that <br />will be sought (i.e. professional engineering firm, registered land surveyor, aquatic biologist etc.). <br />Professional Engineering designs for development of the dam structure have been completed at this time by <br />the BOR. The next phase of the proposed water activity is actual construction of the dam structure. The work <br />plan will entail the BOR completing the construction work, with supervision from professional engineers, as <br />well as aquatic and field personnel of the USFS and CDOW. Construction of the proposed water activity <br />would be completed by the fall of 2009. <br />8
