Ideally, the standard NHD layer could be used to display and link to HydroBase. However,
if necessary, a simplified NHD spatial data layer will be created corresponding to the streams
in HydroBase.
106.3 An updated CWRAT with documentation that uses the updated stream connectivity data in
HydroBase.
106.4 Updated CWRAT WIS Data in HydroBase. RTi will identify the required changes, which
will be made by the HydroBase DBA in the master database.
106.5 Updated StateView/CWRAT documentation.
Task 107 -Display Administrative Data in a Network Diagram
Objective:
Display administrative data (WIS data, calls, real-time streamflow) in a network diagram
(schematic).
Background:
The existing CWRAT application displays administrative data in a number of ways. Real-time
data are displayed in water information sheets and as time series. Calls are displayed in tabular
form. Water information sheets show intermediate point flow values based on administrative
decisions. Overall, administrative data are available in several locations but are not combined in
any displays.
Traditionally, line diagrams have been used to display important information about a stream
reach using a schematic approach. Data commonly presented include water rights, major
physical features and administrative notes. Creation of line diagrams can be alabor-intensive
process involving computer aided drafting. Therefore implementing a line diagram within the
existing CWRAT application is not appropriate.
In order to display important administrative data that are available in CWRAT and HydroBase in
a useful visual form, a network display tool will be developed and implemented. Although not
strictly astraight-line diagram, this tool will have some similar features such as structure
locations and the ability to present water rights. The major difference is that the network diagram
created herein will be limited to contain attributes and data that can be obtained from HydroBase
and generated within the CDSS software tools.
It is envisioned that the display tool would be used to build network schematics as follows:
1. Utilize the existing map display and existing spatial data layers to provide an initial
spatial frame of reference. Display stream network data (e.g., the NHD layer from Task
96 of the SPDSS Spatial System Integration contract and available structure layers from
CDSS).
