109.2 Replace the "Time Series Plot" Tool. The existing "time series plot" tool will be
replaced with a simpler tool that is more consistent with current software components. For
example, the StateMod GUI and TSTooI applications allow a variety of time series to be
queried and plotted, with the ability to modify the graph type, titles, etc. A similar tool will
be implemented in StateView/CWRAT to promote consistency, simplify maintenance, and
increase functionality.
109.3 Add Real-time Data to the Station View. The station display will be enhanced to
include real-time time series. This will be accomplished by adding a "Real-time" interval,
where appropriate, when the station data type is selected.
109.4 Add Real-time Data to the Structure View. The structure displays will be enhanced to
include real-time time series, as appropriate. For example, the current display for reservoirs
lists "Diversion Coding" and "Historical End of Month Contents" time series. The list of
time series will be updated to include real-time elevation and surface area. The result of this
task will allow all time series data available for a structure to be available for viewing.
109.5 Enhance Map Interaction with Station Displays. Currently, it is possible to select
stations on the map from the stations view. However, because spatial data exist only for
"streamflow" stations (not historical versus real-time) and "climate" stations (not
"precipitation", "temperature", etc.), the integration of time series and map displays is
incomplete. In this task, the spatial data from Task 95 of the SPDSS Spatial Integration
Component contractor will be used to improve the integration of time series and map
displays, allowing real-time stations and climate data to be selected on the map. The specific
enhancements will be limited to the new station data layers created as deliverables in Task
95.
109.6 Show Real-time Data on the Map. Implement a tool to display real-time streamflow data
as a layer on a map. The layer may consist of vertical bars showing flow totals or a simple
text label. The spatial locations for stations will be taken from the deliverables of Task 95 of
the SPDSS Spatial Integration Component contractor. The real-time values will be taken
from a HydroBase table containing the station identifier (or key), the latest streamflow value
or the streamflow nearest a particular time, and the date/time of the reading.
109.7 Implement a Graph Type Containing Historical Average and Real-time Data.
Modify the CWRAT/StateView real-time data displays to optionally display historical data
statistics, including long-term averages and return frequency. This tool will also be useful in
TSTooI and therefore will be implemented in general fashion. The design of this feature will
depend on the availability of data in HydroBase (e.g., correlation between historical and real-
time stations) and performance of the tools. The DWR Streamflow web site utilizes a table
containing the historical day average. Similar historical maximum, minimum, and standard
deviation statistics can be derived for display in CDSS tools.
Deliverables:
