These wells will be
selected to provide continuous records of water level fluctuations in areas near major pumping
centers.
Up to four bedrock wells will be selected and instrumented with a transducer and data logger,
if suitable wells with cooperative owners can be located. The State will be provided with a
list of candidate wells for its approval prior to installing data loggers in the wells.
Data loggers will be installed in the selected wells and programmed to record data several
times each day. The data loggers will be dedicated to these wells. After verifying that the
data loggers are operating correctly, they will be accessed by the Consultant twice in a twelve
month period to download. data, verify proper functioning, and provide routine maintenance.
Task 39.3 Surveying
Wells in the SEO water level monitoring program that have not been surveyed for vertical
control will be identified and prioritized for surveying. A Colorado licensed surveyor using
differential GPS methods will be subcontracted to provide horizontal and vertical (elevation)
data for the selected wells. The elevation data will be used to prepare potentiometric surface
maps of the groundwater surfaces that will have a much greater accuracy than previous maps.
it is anticipated that up to 80 wells will be surveyed under Phase 3.
Deliverables:
Task 39.4 Phase 3 Water Level Measurement Technical Memorandum
The Consultant will develop a submittal of up to 5 pages in length (with additional pages for
data tables and. appendices) that contains a description of the field data collection effort, a
summary of the water level and well survey results, and appendices containing copies of the
raw data. There will be no mapping of the data in this Task; mapping and discussion of the
data will be provided under Task 44. The technical memorandum will include separate
sections for bedrock aquifers and alluvial aquifers.
The consultant will provide a digital copy (in both Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
format) for review and comment by the State. The consultant will incorporate the State's
comments and recommendations and provide a final technical memorandum, also in digital
(Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat) format. Figures that are prepared in GIS format will
also be provided in electronic ArcGIS format including supporting metadata descriptions and
SPDSS Groundwater SOW, Phase3
