The results of this inventory
will be summarized on maps and in tabular format. This inventory will be used to prioritize
the efforts to focus on the most significant M&I .groundwater users.
• Up to 100 municipalities and large industrial users will. be interviewed to determine if records
of groundwater usage are maintained and available. it is anticipated that users targeted for
data collection will be contacted up to three times before eliminating them from the analysis.
The effort will be coordinated with the Consumptive Use/Water Balance contractor, who is
estimating agricultural pumping, to minimize overlaps or gaps in contacting key well users.
• For the pumping records that are available, groundwater production will be summarized for
individual wells, and by M&I users for the study period (1950-present). The quality of the
pumping records will be characterized by noting in summary tables the methods and
frequency by which the data were originally measured, collected and recorded, whether well
construction information is available to identify which the aquifer(s) that a well is screened
across and the results of that analysis, and a comparison of the information received to that
contained in HydroBase.
• Monthly totals will be converted into consistent units of pumping rate or volume and entered
into the database for migration to Hydrobase. A maximum of 300 locations with historic
records are anticipated.
The information gathered under this task will be used to help estimate M&I pumping under Task
41 and will be described under that Task.
Task 33: Phase 3 Workplan Development
Objective:
The objective of this task into develop a field program and workplan that includes the Phase 3
field activities. This workplan will update the Phase 2 workplan. New procedures will be added
to guide the Phase 3 streambed conductance testing, streambed surveying and water level
measurement activities in the Denver Basin and Lower South Platte Regions.
Approach:
Task 33.i Phase 3 Data Collection Program Design.
• The Consultant will develop a Phase 3 data collection program based on Phase 1 and Phase 2
recommendations. This will include sediment sample collection, streambed permeability
SPDSS Groundwater SOW, Phase 3 3
