01-26-95 Modified return flows from "excess demand" from Bostwick Park demand (8 7
?
percent of Cimarron Canal diversions) dur ing the month of October, assuming 10 0
percent infiltration and returns to the Uncompahgre River.
Modified the operation of the Smith Fork F eeder Canal to function as a direct flow
?
right diverting water to storage in Crawfo rd Reservoir, which is not subject to th e
one-fill per year rule. The diversion is still limited only to periods when there i s
available space in Crawford Reservoir. Th e single fill rule is now tied to the Iro n
Creek inflow link.
Added a dead pool account to Ridgway Re servoir. This is tied to the minpoo l
?
demand. Since this demand is set to zero, water will not be released from the dea d
pool. However, water can be brought into the dead pool to allow for replacemen t
of pro rata evaporation loss.
Added links to provide for a limited refill of Ridgway Reservoir, constrained onl y
?
to the months of May and June. This change was to override the tendency of th e
reservoir to lose water after it had ach ieved its "paper" one time fill during th e
winter months.
Changed UVWUA account in Ridgway from 11,200 to 10,300 ac re-feet. Since it i s
?
currently unallocated, the 900 acre-feet in the Dallas account has been temporaril y
connected to the minpool demand, which has a zero demand.
Changed the total contents of Ridgway a nd Paonia reservoirs to account for all o f
?
the sub-accounts (ownerships), including th e dead and inactive pools. Added a new
sub-account in Paonia Reservoir for deliv ery of 1,500 acre-feet to the river fo r
endangered species mitigation. It is assume d that this water will be released durin g
June of each year.
Changed allocation of 2,000 acre-feet in Paonia Reservoir for the Ragged Mountai n
?
Water Users, prorated based on acreag e irrigated under the East Muddy and Wes t
Muddy ditches (from GUNMOD).
Filled in missing data in the Gunnison Town demand.
?
Incorporated headgate nodes for each of the Uncompahgre Project canals that ar e
?
linked to receive return flows from upstream structures. If the return flow is no t
needed to satisfy the demand, it moves through a link from the headgate deman d
back to the river. This eliminates the n eed for the "sink" formerly included in th e
UVWUA constructs.
Added a storage link fr om Blue Mesa Reservoir to the Ironstone Ditch. As a resul t,
?
approximately 66 percent of the demand in the UVWUA has access to storage i n
Blue Mesa and Ridgway reservoirs.
Incorporated higher negative costs for th e storage links from Blue Mesa Reservoi r
?
to the Uncompahgre project canals to ensure that Blue Mesa storage was no t
4
A275 02.23.94 1.15-27 Fosha, Ritsch
