2.5 Prepare Final Study Period Memorandum
Prepare final Study Period Memorandum, incorporating State comments on draft. The
deliverable for this Sub-Task is the final Study Period Memorandum.
TASK 3 Review Past Modeling Efforts
Objective
To review and summarize previous surface water modeling efforts that have been performed
for rivers and streams within the San Luis Valley. This accomplished through a review of
documents supporting previous modeling efforts.
Comment
The review of previous modeling efforts will be limited to developing a general
understanding of modeling approaches, geographic scope, and specific physical or
legal/administrative issues that were represented in the models or otherwise considered.
Approach
3.1 Compile Information on Previous Modeling Efforts
Compile reports, papers, and general information that relate to previous surface water
modeling efforts in the San Luis Valley, and specifically the Rio Grande River and its
tributaries. The scope of this effort will be limited to compiling documents and other
information that is readily available through State, Federal and local governmental and quasi-
governmental agencies. The deliverable for this Sub-Task will be a bibliography of all
documents reviewed that describe surface water modeling in the San Luis Valley. Copies of
documents reviewed during Task 3 will be provided to the State.
3.2 Review Modeling Documentation /Summary Memorandum
Review documents and other information compiled in Sub-Task 3.1. Review will be limited
to the time necessary to develop a basic understanding of surface water modeling approaches
used in the San Luis Valley, particular problems or difficulties encountered, and methods
used to address these problems. Prepare a memorandum (approximately 5 - 10 pages)
describing significant previous surface water modeling efforts in the San Luis Valley. This
memorandum will emphasize specific issues, problems, difficulties encountered during these
efforts, and make general assessments as to the strengths and weaknesses of previously
developed modeling tools. The deliverable for this Sub-Task will be this memorandum.
RGDSS Surface Water Scope of Work 9 11/8/98
