For budgeting purposes, approximately 350 key diversion structures are expected to be
required for the Rio Grande Model.
1.4 Review Map of Key Gages /Structures in the Basin
Review three maps of station location information provided in hard copy and digital
(ArcView) format by the * * Spatial System Integration Contractor* *; one that shows the
location of all diversions and reservoirs, one that shows the location of all stream flow
stations and one that shows the location of all climate stations. Mark the station map to
identify the key structures (diversions and reservoirs) preliminarily identified in Task 1.3 for
use during the Task 4 meetings. (Note, the stream and climate gage maps are expected to
used in Task 2 to identify key streamflow and climate stations.. The deliverable for this Sub-
Task is a hard copy map of the Rio Grande Basin showing the location of preliminary key
structures.
1.5 Download StateMod GUI and CWRAT Tool
Obtain a copy of StateMod GUI and CRWAT tool from the State's FTP site. This software
will be maintained on and utilized from Hydrosphere's computer system. No deliverable is
defined for this Sub-Task.
1.6 Exercise CWRAT Data Viewing and Reporting Tool
Use the CWRAT data viewing and reporting tools to become familiar with their operation
and capabilities. If necessary, these tools will be used to help understand water rights
administration on the Rio Grande and its tributaries and in the selection of structures to be
explicitly represented in the model. No deliverable is defined for this Sub-Task.
1.7 Prepare Memorandum -Feedback on DMI's, StateMod GUI, and CWRAT
Tool
Prepare a memorandum (approximately 2 - 3 pages) that summarizes Hydrosphere's efforts
to operate StateMod and CWRAT, and utilize the StateMod GUI and DMI's. This
memorandum will include a discussion on the usability of these tools and suggestions for
modifications aimed at improving their usability and/or performance for application to the
Rio Grande Basin. The deliverable for this Sub-Task is this summary memo.
TASK 2 Identify Study Period
Objective
Select a study period for use by the RGDSS planning models.
RGDSS Surface Water Scope of Work 7 11/8/98
