Bellvue Treatment Plant (Greeley Filter Pipeline) Total River Diversions
• Complete record over 1950-2002
• Historic diversions have ranged from approximately 7,000 ac-ft/yr in the 1950s and
1960s, growing to 19,000 ac-ft/yr - 20,000 ac-ft/yr over the last 5 years.
• Sporadic records of transbasin deliveries (C-BT - 0304620, Windy Gap-0304700,
through Horsetooth Reservoir-0303772, and through Barnes Meadow Reservoir-
0303683) and deliveries from other storage units and ditch headgates. No pattern to
availability of specific coding associated with these database entries was evidenced.
5) Boyd Filter Plant (Structure ID 0400702)
The Boyd Potable Treatment Plant was constructed in 1968 along the Greeley Loveland
Irrigation Company (GLIC) system to provide summer peaking supplies. The Boyd plant was
originally built with an operating capacity of 10 mgd and subsequently enlarged in 1976 (20
mgd), 1987 (30 mgd), and 1999 (40 mgd). Water for the Boyd plant comes directly from Boyd
Lake and Lake Loveland. Both storage units are operated by GLIC. Water from the Boyd plant is
pumped to Gold Hill Reservoir, located on the western edge of the City, prior to delivery to
customers. Greeley is investigating options to expand the use of the Boyd plant for year-round
use through negotiations with the GLIC Board. The GLIC system is also used to provide non-
potable supplies for use in the western portions of the City's service area.
HydroBase Data
The monthly data over the 1950-2002 period of record pertaining to the potable treatment
operations include the following:
Boyd Filter Plant Total River Diversions
• Complete record over 1996-2000 and 2002-2003
• Historic diversions of approximately 8,000 ac-ft/yr with close to 13,000 ac-ft in 2001.
• Sporadic records of source of diversions (DivClass), including Lake Loveland Dupe ID
(0404877), Horseshoe Lake (0404123), Boyd Lake (0404110), Barnes Ditch (0400501),
and Adams Tunnel (0404634).
The City of Greeley's total potable uses include diversions at the Bellvue Treatment Plant, the
Boyd Potable Treatment Plant, and Pleasant Valley Pipeline. The City's total potable uses were
analyzed using the available HydroBase data over the 1998-2002 period for the Bellvue
Treatment Plant and Boyd Potable Treatment Plant, as summarized graphically in Figure 6.
