Milton Lake Delivery S t ructures :
The Gilm or e Ditch is the only structure that delivers water
f r om Milton Lake to lan d s w ithin th e FRICO-Milton Sys t em.
Gilm ore Ditch
Water is released from the Milton Lake ou tle t to the Gilm ore Ditch f o r delivery to
FRICO lands in Beebe Draw. The unlined ditch travels in a northern direction for
approxim a tely 13 m iles and then arcs south to term inate in Box Elder Creek. Gilm ore
Ditch is app r oxim a tely 2 4 m iles in le ngth. Th e ditch is equipped w ith a measuring weir
at the outlet of the re servoir. On occasion, Evans No. 2 Ditch can tailwater into the
Gilm ore ditch downstream from this m easur ing device, however this happens rarely
because the Evans No. 2 system is water sho r t. T a ilwater fro m the East Neres Canal can
also reach th e Gilm ore Ditch but rarely does because the FRICO–Barr system is water
short. Losse s in Gilm ore Ditch ar e estim ated to be 25% to 50%.
WATER RIGHTS
Tables 2 3
and show the direct flow right for stor age and the storage rights owned by the
FRICO–Marshall division.
Table 2
1
Water Righ ts - Platte V a lley Canal
Decreed
Appropriation Adjudication Adm i nistration
Source Am ount Uses
Date Date No.
(cfs)
South Platte
0 5 / 2 9 / 1 9 0 9 0 8 / 0 2 / 1 9 1 8 2 1 6 9 8 . 0 0 0 0 0 5 1 0 . 0 0 S t o r a g e
River
Notes:
1.
