HydroBase Data:
Historical end-of-month storage reco rds a r e ava ilab l e f o r Milton L a ke in
HydroBase under Structure ID 0203876 for m o st of the 1950 through 2003 SPDSS study
period. Diversion records from Milton Lake are available in HydroBase under the sam e
Structure ID for the years 1965, 1996, and 2002 only.
Figure 2
The annual pattern exhibited in the end-of -m ont h reservoir storage, as shown in ,
reflects the typical op erati ng schedule discussed in the subsequent Operational
Inform ation section of this m e m o. Reservoi r sto r age typically reaches a m a xi m u m each
year between April and June. Reservoir le vels drop throughout the irrigation season
reach ing the lowest level late in the ir rigation season, typically between August and
October. Through the winter storage pe riod of Novem b er through May, a m i ni m a l
am ount of water is diverted into the reser voir and return flows from the Beebe Canal
slowly increase the end-of- m onth storage leve l. Milton L a ke is not typically filled to
capacity. W a ter is typ i ca lly r e lea s ed f o r irrigation beginning in May and continuing
through Septem ber or October.
Figure 2: Milton Lake Histo rical End-of-Month Storage
Diversion coding of the historic al d i vers ion r e c o rds ind i ca tes tha t wate r is dive rted into
Barr Lake through the Evans No. 2 Ditch.
