--Sue Morea: If you need more than a month or two, we can accommodate that. <br />--Harold Evans: Please explain to us the process once we were to accept and approve this; are we <br />adding to our SWSI needs assessment this study; two year time frame for this additional <br />information? <br />--Sue Morea: Right now: bullet items on page 3 (holes in needs assessment) have been identified <br />(this is only for consumptive needs); yes, but we will add to this needs to 2050 and the projects <br />in process; then we will be able to identify the gap. The feeling is the identified projects and <br />processes have not moved forward as we anticipated; we will recalculate the gap therefore. <br />--Evans: What is time frame for 2050 and gap? <br />--Sue Morea: August and then ongoing after interaction over next four/five months; identified <br />projects and processes; IP&P data base is being created; <br />--Evans: Antidote: I will be luncheon speaker for South Platte Tour talking about Greeley and <br />their needs; two granddaughters: 2months old; in 2030, they will be 24 years old; this brings it <br />home; I see that what I do now will be their water future; this is the dimension; also, 1971, <br />migrated here to go to work, my kids born here, my grandkids born here; the growth we are <br />experiencing is key to our motivation. <br />--Hal Simpson: Primary author: Rick Stencil and staff of CDM did majority of work; Hal did <br />overview and comments; overview of study: (Mr. Simpson provides an overview and summary <br />of the Metro and South Platte Basin Roundtables Task Order Summary) <br />1) CBT is reaching a limit as per what can be planned on for future; therefore ag water rights or <br />unappropriated water holds focus (see page 5 of summary); discussion of ag rights from Denver <br />to Pruett; fluidity of water rights market on Platte; moving from 3 million to 5 million people on <br />South Platte River Basin (people negotiating in top secret where they will be getting water); <br />2) Unappropriated water available: very little; factors on page 5 for why there is such key <br />competition for these limited water resources; see gauges (page 6) Henderson Gauge; see Kersey <br />(top 7) even to State Line; <br />3) See table 9 on page 9;1950-1980 (previous record) needs updating; <br />4) See page 10: firm yield requires storage; key changes on bottom of page 10 <br />5) See page 11: one of factors is gravel lake storage; table on page 12 Table 2: Table 3: some of <br />major communities are looking at re: water storage: gravel pit storage; capture and reuse capture <br />of consumable return flows; therefore see system is being developed more and more <br />6) Conditional Water Rights on page 13: Amount of Conditional Storage Rts by Priority and <br />Water District (lots still on the books) <br />
