--Mike Shimmin: Republican River District believes they have enough money over 20 years by
which they would lease these same water rights back from the Yuma Cty Water Authority; thus,
not talking about new fees to finance this.
--Dick Wolfe: Final settlement: promulgating well rules: July 2 and 3 in Wray; then moving
forward with compact compliance rules.
Post-Dinner Presentation: Sue Morea and Hal Simpson: Task Orders and Consumptive
Needs Assessment. (Handouts and email pertain to this presentation.)
--Consumptive Needs Assessment; Non-consumptive still underway
--Metro and South Platte wanted to look at competition for water supply:
--How is project coming together as State-Wide deliverable; add: state wide: non-consumptive
and taking demands to 2050 and looking at status of projects and what providers are planning on
implementing as per prof ects;
--Handout is deliverable for Metro and South Platte Basin; moving into phase to bring this into
state-wide basin, looking at water supply alternatives; thus, this deliverable will become the
needs assessment per SWSI and now moving into update for demands after 2050; coming within
next ew year time rame.
--Sasha Charney: Would request that we receive these summaries in a timely manner so that we
have time to review and to give comments.
--Sue Morea: Note that this is an orientation to the information, you can have as much time as
you need; we are not intending to ask for comments today.
--Charney: Reiterates benefit of being able to receive these in a timely manner; as per competing
water users in basin, seems like this has focus in the north.
--Sue Morea: That is because of CBT presence in picture;
--Hal Simpson: What we know is that CBT is where the water is and there is none there; no one
talking about where they are getting their water;
--Mike Shimmin: Also, need to focus on proj ects that are on the board such as Prairie Water
where that water is already spoken for.
--Simpson: Those are IP&Ps (these are not competing with other projects);
--Shimmin: My question is that if all of these projects go online, there will be less water and I
thought that would be addressed in this report.
--Charney: After you walk through this, how do we respond?
