TASK -~: Mo~~itori~g <br />Products: Water quality monitoring is taking place monthly, in addition to surveyed <br />cross-sections of the restoration site. These will be used over the years to assess bai~lc <br />stability and any changes that aught occur in the channel. Next fall, fish and <br />macroinvertebrates will be monitored and compared with pre-project conditions in <br />order to assess increase in native fish populations. NFRIA staff and volunteers will <br />continue to monitor established cross sections through river survey. Monutoring will <br />be carried out indefinitely. <br />Cost to date: $2,040. This is being funded by local individual donors, Wildlife <br />Forever Foundation, and a Trout Unlimited Mini-grant. <br />Completed: On-going <br />TASK ~: Acq~~is~itioy~ ahd trahsportation of large diameter bo~rlders <br />Products: A stockpile of 3' or larger boulders for incorporation into rock vane <br />stn~ctures. <br />Cost to date: $33,053. Boulders were donated by local landowners. Funds from the <br />CWPF paid for some of the loading and transport of these rocks. <br />Completed: January 27, 2006 <br />TASK 6: Acgzris~itiorz and planting of ~~~ilJo~~~s~ arzd <br />cottor~~~~ooo's~ <br />Products: Seven new willow "silt fences" on <br />either side of the river. These fences stabilize <br />bai~lcs with their root structures and trap nutrient- <br />rich sediment from the river during high water. <br />Volunteers from the community participated in <br />willow planting on two separate days.
