volume for each pond will be used to estimate an approximate surface area using a formula and
coefficients supplied by the State. Surface areas for ponds with no volume data will be estimated using
an average surface area based on all ponds with the volume data.
INFORMIX files, including create statements and Informix ASCII downloads of the stock ponds data,
are located in on .
/crdss/data/div4/non_juris_dam crdss4.crdss. colostate.edu
Also included are insert statements for populating the and tables with
geoloc manmade_structure
the appropriate data. These steps are necessary prior to population of the non_juris_dam table.
Livestock Consumptive Use Characteristics
Livestock consumptive use characteristics describe three types of livestock (cattle, sheep, and hogs).
These data are needed to operate the consumptive use model.
Human Consumptive Use Characteristics
Human consumptive use characteristics are a table of consumptive use values for humans by population
density. These data are found in the table, and detail consumptive use characteristics for
cu_coeff
daily use by humans and livestock.
INFORMIX files, including create statements and Informix ASCII downloads for the above data, are
located in on .
/crdss/data/cu_coeff crdss4.crdss.colostate.edu
Maximum Reservoir Storage Capacity
Maximum reservoir storage capacity is the volume of water when the reservoir is full. These data are
used for the water rights planning model and are available and have been acquired from the State's dam
inventory database.
Minimum Reservoir Storage Capacity/ Dead Storage Volume
Minimum reservoir storage capacity or reservoir dead storage volume is the minimum storage capacity
of the reservoir when the reservoir level is at its lowest point. These data have been obtained from the
State's reservoir data files; these data are used for the water rights planning model.
Normal Reservoir Storage Capacity and Surface Area
Normal reservoir storage capacity is the volume of water at the normal operation level. These data are
needed to determine evaporation rates for both the water rights planning and the CU models. These data
have been acquired from the State?s dam inventory database.
These data were pulled from the dams coverage supplied by the State and are found in the reservoir table.
Dams data encompass the entire State, and data for the Western Slope are found in CRDSS?see the
section on the dams data population for more information. The reservoir ID number in the dams data file
is a concatenation of the key used by the State. Since structure data from the State have only
wd_id
been supplied for Division 4, the only known reservoirs in the and
geoloc manmade_structure
tables are in Division 4.
5
A 275 01.09.95 1.07-2 Lange
