Most of the other counties listed in Table 1 are completely
within the South Platte River or Laramie River basins. Some counties span more than one river
basin, and recommendations on the inclusion of their agricultural statistics, shown in Table 1,
are provided below:
^ Gilpin County -Gilpin County is entirely within the South Platte River basin, however,
no irrigated acreage is reported since 1991.
^ Logan County -Logan County provides runoff to both the South Platte River basin and
the Republican River basin. Based on satellite imagery delineation of irrigated lands, it is
estimated that about 50 percent of the irrigated acreage is in the South Platte River basin
and 50 percent is in the Republican River basin.
^ Sedgwick County - Sedgwick County provides runoff to both the South Platte River
basin and the Republican River basin. Based on satellite imagery delineation of irrigated
lands, it is estimated that about 25 percent of the irrigated acreage is in the South Platte
River basin and 75 percent is in the Republican River basin.
^ Teller County -Teller County provides runoff to both the South Platte River basin and
the Arkansas River basin.
