6) The water DUffiO. sUDolv line and tank will be removed.
B. Core Drill Rig Trails

These trails are those ground marks caused by movement
of the drill rigs and other vehicles. Generally, where appro-
priate, the same route would be used each time to reduce the
impact of the area.

Where disturbance to the ground occurs, erosion control
methods will be used. These include mulching and seeding of
the areas as required. Water bars will be provided to improve
poorly drained areas and at other locations where necessary to
minimize erosion. cut brush will be used to stabilize areas
which are poorly drained and contain fine textured surface soils.

C. Roads

The Colorado Rive and Tributary Valleys in the Project
Area have low to moderate population density, with the prin-
cipal industries being farming (crops and dairy) and forest-
related (forestry and logging). Roads, including state high-
ways, county roads, private roads and lanes, rorest service
roads and logging roads, exist throughout the areas. Access
during the Preliminary Permit for the conduct of the investi-
gations planned and described herein, will use the existing
roads. Some traversing of state land or private property by
drilling rigs or small equipment, crews and trucks from an
existing road to a drilling, seismic, or other field investi-
gation site will be necessary. Due to the extent of existing
roads, and the comparatively accessible nature of the planned
areas of investigation, it is not anticipated that any additional
road cuts or construction will be done during the Preliminary
Permit period.

D. Seismic Refraction Survey Explosive Craters

A two to three foot diameter hole in the soil will be
produced at the end of each seismic traverse. This will be
backfilled with surrounding material, and if in soil would
be mulched and seeded.

The minimal brushing which will occur with this method
of investigation will be scattered around the site. All
flagging and residue from the geophysical investigations
will be removed from the site.

E. Construction Materials Investigations

Auger hole drilling and sampling for potential impervious
core material is proposed. These auger holes, 18 inches to
24 inches in dia~eter, will be backfilled after drilling and
the disturbed area seeded.

-15-
