to Green Mountain Dam is accessible via the Green Mountain
Darn road off of Colorado Highway #9. It is anticipated
that since the Bear Gulch and Sheephorn Creek Diversion Dams
are very small structures, any geological, geotechnical and
survey work that is needed can be accomplished using available
access. The geological, geotechnical and survey studies that
will be needed for the tunnels will also be accomplished by
crews on foot or by using helicopters for-access. Along the
tunnel routes, core drilling and seismic surveys will, probably
be conducted for the geological and geotechnical studies, with
these seismic routes and specific drilling sites being deter-
mined by survey.

E. Blue River Pipeline and Pump Stations

The Green Mountain Pump Station will be located on the
south shore of Green Mountain Reservoir near Black Creek.
The Blue River Pipeline will generally follow the south bank
of the Green Mountain Reservoir and Colorado State Highway i9.
Booster Pump Station #2 will be located near the base of Dillon
Dam. Access to these sites will be via Colorado State Highway
#9. It is planned that drill holes will be needed at each
pump station location and seismatic surveys along the pipeline
routes.

F. Rock Creek Dam, McCoy Hydroelectric Station and Power
Tunnel

The Rock Creek Darn will be located on Rock Creek 2.1
miles upstream of its confluence with the Colorado River, near
McCoy. South of the Rock Creek Dam on the Colorado River will
be the McCoy Hydroelectric Station, interconnected by a Power
Tunnel with the Rock Creek Dam. Access to these facilities is
via the existing road. It is planned that the damsite power
tunnel route and hydroelectric power station location will be
drilled and seismic studies performed along the tunnel route
and at the damsite.

G. Alternate Water Tunnels

A water tunnel will connect Rock Creek Reservoir and
Sheephorn Reservoir for the purpose of increasing'water yield
and providing increased hydroelectric power production. Two
alternate water tunnel routes are shown on the general area
map. Access to the tunnel route locations probably will have
to be made on foot or by using helicopter. Surveys will be
made of both routes to determine the location of drill holes
and the position of seismic traverses.

-9-
