H. Hydroelectric Reregulating Reservoirs

A reregulation reservoir will be located dOvffistream from
each hydroelectric power station to provide continuous minimum
allowable flow in the Colorado River. Access to these sites
is on existing roads. It is anticipated that both drill holes
and seismic refraction surveys will be needed along the Dam
Axis. These will be located by predetermined field surveys on
each site.

I. Gore Canyon Hydroelectric Station, Gore Stabilizing
Reservoir, and Gore Canyon Power Pipeline

The Gore power pipeline connects the Barber Basin Reser-
voir on Muddy Creek, with the Gore Stabilizing Reservoir, and
follows the 8200 foot contour parallelling Muddy Creek. Gore
Stabilizing Reservoir is located approximately 4 miles west of
Krerr@ling. The Gore Canyon Power Pipeline also connects the
Gore Stabilizing Reservoir and the Gore Canyon Hydroelectric
Station, which is located on the Colorado River near the upper
end of the Sheephorn Reservoir. Access to these sites generally
will have to be on foot or by helicopter. The Gore Stabilizing
Reservoir site and the Barber Basin Reservoir site can be reach-
ed by existing roads as can various points on the Gore Canyon
Power Pipeline. It is anticipated that drill holes and seismic
refraction traverses will have to be made along the route of
the Gore Canyon Pipeline at predetermined surveyed points. Drill
holes and seismic traverses will probably be needed at the Hydro-
electric station site and along the axis of the Gore Stabilizing
Dam. These also will be located in the field by field surveys.

J. Rabbit Ears and Barber Basin System

This system is comprised of the Rabbit Ears Dam and Reser-
voir, the Barber Basin Dam and Reservoir, the Fish and Walton
Creek Collection System, and the Harrison Creek Collection
System. The Rabbit Ears Reservoir will be located on Muddy
Creek near Rabbit Ears Pass. The Barber Basin Reservoir will
be located approximately 4.5 miles downstream of the Rabbit
Ears Reservoir on Muddy Creek. The Fish and Water Creek Collec-
tion System Route runs north and west from the proposed Rabbit
Ears Reservoir. -It is planned that these be water transmission
tunnels with shafts and collection facilities at specified points
on the system. The Harrison Creek Collection System is located
south and west of the Rabbit Ears Reservoir. Small collection
and diversion facilities will transport water into a tributary
of Muddy Creek. Access to these facility sites will probably
be made on foot or by helicopter. It is planned that drill holes
and seismic refraction traverses be made along the route of the
tunnels, and at diversion facility sites. The location of these
seismic traverses and drill holes will be located in the field
by survey. The dam sites are accessible by existing county roads.

-10-

r
,.
