SITE SPECIFIC GEOLOGICAL AND SURvLY ACTIVITIES

A. General

The proposed site specific field operations required
during the study period will be complementary to the geo-
logic and survey work previously accomplished. It is anti-
cipated that the geological and survey field operations that
are required for each specific facility will conform to the
standards for the general programs discussed previously in
this plan.

B. Sheephorn Dam and Power Station

The proposed location is on the Colorado River approxi-
mately 10.2 miles down stream from Kremmling, Colorado. Access
to the site is along Grand County Trough Road. It will be
necessary to perform geological, geotechnical and survey
studies at this site.

C. Little Sheephorn Dam, Little Sheephorn Pump Station,
Sheephorn Pipeline and Sheephorn Pump Station

The Little Sheephorn Dam and Pump Station will be located
on Sheephorn Creek arroximately 4.5 miles upstream with its
junction with the Colorado River. The Little Sheephorn Pump
Station will be located downstream from the Sheephorn Dam near
the confluence of the Colorado River and Sheephorn Creek. The
Sheephorn Pipeline will parallel Sheephorn Creek from Sheep-
horn PTh~P Station to Little Sheephorn Pump Station. Access
to these facility sites is by a county road parallelling Sheep-
horn Creek. It will be necessary to perform geological, geo-
technical, and survey stations at these sites.

D. Bear Tunnel and Green Mountain Tunnel

Bear Gulch Diversion Dam and Bear Tunnel will be located
on the Piney River, with the tunnel connecting the Piney River
and the upper reaches of Sheephorn Creek. The Sheephorn Creek
Diversion Darn will be located approximately 2.9 miles upstream
of the Little Sheephorn Dam. Green Mountain Tunnel will have
its west portal located approximately 2.7 miles upstream from
the Little Sheephorn Dam. The east portal of the Green Moun-
tain Tunnel will be located near the left abutment of the Green
Mountain Dam and will transport water from the Sheephorn Creek
Basin to Green Mountain Reservoir. Access to the portals of
both Bear and Green Mountain Tunnels located on Sheephorn Creek
is via the<.existing-'roadvihich parallels the creek. The portal
of Bear Tunnel River and Bear Gulch Diversion Dam both located
on the Piney River, are accessible only on foot or by helicop-
ter. The portal of the Green Mountain Tunnel located adjacent

-8-
