WATER STUDIES

Historic and Corrected Flows at Sheephorn Damsite and Shoshone
The period selected for study is October 1951 - September 1965,
inclusive. As there are no historical records of the streamflow at
the damsite, it was necessary to utilize gaging station records at
Kre8mling and Hot Sulphur Springs to estimate the flow at the damsite.
Also used to estimate the Sheephorn damsite flows were the recorded
flo#s of the Williams Fork below Williams Fork Reservoir, the Blue
River belovl Green Mountain Reservoir, Muddy Creek, and Troubles~~e
Creek. As records at these stations are not always concurrent~ it
was necessary to estimate the missing flows by correlations during
periods of concurrent flows.
The estimated flows at the Sheephorn damsite, determined by the
above method, do not reflect full development or transmountain projects.
Consequently, corrections were made to the estimated flows at the
damsite for potential additional diversions by the Colorado-Big Th~~pson
Project and by the estimated rull transffiountain diversions by Denver's
Fraser River, Williams Fork River, and Blue River projects; by
Englewood's Ranch Creek Project; and by Colorado Springs' Blue River
projects. The historic recorded flows at Shoshone were reduced by
these potential transmountain diversions. It was also necessary to
correct the Shoshone flows for the potential Homestake Project diversions.

Historic and Corrected Flows at Cameo
The historic flows at Cameo were corrected for the potential
depletions (transmountain diversions) for the projects which have and
will alter the flow at Shoshone as previously discussed. Also, correc-
tions were made to the Cameo flows to reflect development of the
Homestake Project in the Eagle River Basin, the Fryingpan-Arkansas
Project and the T\'/in Lakes Project.

-8-
