4.4 Interior Drainaqe System

The Town of Wiggins has an existing interior drainage system
which adequately drains the areas behind the levee system
and lower areas of Town through the Burlington Northern
Railroad tracks via one 72 inch and two 48 inch culverts.
The interior drainage system is gravity flow with gravity
flow outlets. The drainage system is displayed as Plate
02. During periods of high water the Flood Superintendent
shall insure that all openings through Town are kept clear
and free of trash, including the BNRR culverts.

4.5 Flood Warninq System

The Town of Wiggins Flood warning System that will be used
to trigger the emergency operations activities has been
tested and demonstrates that sufficient flood warning time
exists for all closures, gates and other associated
activities before the flood reaches the Town. The Flood
Warning System is described in detail in Appendix F.

4.6 Drainaqe Structures

The gated drainage structures used for irrigation operations
shall normally remain in the open position. The Flood
Operations Plan designates certain responsibilities and
tasks to the closing of these gated drainage structures when
a flood is imminent.

4.7 Flood Operations Plan

The Flood Operations Plan was adopted by the Board of
Trustees on December 7, 1988 and is included as a part of
this Manual as Appendix G.
