The <br />Burlington Northern Railroad (BNRR) is responsible for the <br />installation of the stop logs upon notice from the Flood <br />Superintendent that flooding of a water surface elevation <br />greater than the height of the top of the tracks is <br />imminent. The first stop log installed, which has a steel <br />plate attached to the bottom. will ground out the rails of <br />the tracks turning the red warning railroad stop lights on. <br />The red warning lights notify East-West train traffic to <br />stop for the closure and the flood. A formal Flood <br />Operations Plan addressing closure operation including <br />specific assignments is displayed as Appendix G. <br /> <br />U.S. Hiqhwav 6 Stop Loq Closure - The Stop Log Closure at <br />this location was designed into the levee system to become <br />an integral part of the Project. The Flood Superintendent <br />is responsible for the installation of the stop logs and <br />center post after receipt of a notice of flood warning. <br />The Town will install the stop logs and notify the Highway <br />Department to barricade the highway stopping East-West <br />traffic. A formal Flood Operations Plan addressing closure <br />operation including specific assignments is presented as <br />Appendix G of this Manual. <br /> <br />The closure structures operation will be implemented from <br />information which is contained in the Flood Operations Plan. <br />
