The specific objectives of the proposed project are:

1. Augment the flow of the Colorado River for the
project period.

2. Establish a precise record of operational cloud

seeding effectiveness over a range of wet and dry

years.

3. Determine if there are perceptible and significant
effects of large-scale seedin9 on precipitation,
runoff, and environmental regimes up to 200 miles
downwind of the basin.

4. Determine if there are perceptible and significant

ecological and other environmental impacts over an

extended period and develop detailed, acceptable

operating criteria to minimize adverse impacts with

a full water augmentation program.

5. Widen the general public's awareness and understanding

of cloud seeding capabilities, limitations, and impacts

and determine the scope and degree of cloud seeding

that will be publicly acceptable in the basin and

adjoining regions.
