The state and locally sponsored operational application <br />programs in Colorado and Utah from 1976 to 1979. <br /> <br />Winter experiments were conducted as part of the Bureau.s research <br />program in mountain areas outside the Colorado River Basin that also <br />contributed to development of the present technology: <br /> <br />1. Elk Mountain, Wyoming, research by the University of Wyoming. <br /> <br />2. Bridger Range, Montana, experiment by Montana State University. <br /> <br />3. Utah State University experiment near Logan, Utah. <br /> <br />4. Jemez Mountains, New Mexico, experiment by New Mexico State <br />University. <br /> <br />5. Sierra Nevada cooperative experiment (CENSARE) by Fresno <br />State College in central California. <br /> <br />6. Pyramid Lake Pilot Project by University of Nevada centered in <br />the Lake Tahoe area. <br /> <br />The Vardiman and Moore study 20/, previously referred to, combined the <br />data from several of these projects to determine the generalized <br />seeding criteria. <br /> <br />.s <br /> <br />Three current winter orographic cloud seeding experiments in the <br />western United States will add further knowledge to the developing <br /> <br />23 <br />
