<br />... <br /> <br />DIRECTORS JOIN ENTITIES WITHIN <br />THE ARKANSAS RIVER BASIN <br /> <br />At a special meeting Sep- <br />tember 10. 2003 the Board of <br />Directors for the Southeastern <br />Colorado \Yater Conseryancy <br />District ~SEC\\TD) unani- <br />mously yoted to adopt and pur- <br />sue the goals and principles of <br />the _-\.rkansas Riwr \Yater Pres- <br />elyation Committee. <br />The _-\.rkansas Riyer \Yater <br />Presen:ation Committee is a <br />collaboration of entities \,'ithin <br />the Arkansas \ - alley Basin <br />formed to safeguard and pre- <br />serw, for present and future <br />generations. the \yater ayailable <br />for diwrsion and use \yithin <br />the Arkansas Riyer Basin. The <br />entities inyoh-ed are Pueblo <br />and Colorado Springs City <br />Councils. Board of \Yater <br />\Yorks of Pueblo. Lo\"er Ar- <br />kansas YaHey \Yater Conser- <br />yancy District. Cpper Arkansas <br />\Yater ConseITancy District <br /> <br />and SEC\\TD. SEC\YCD <br />President Alan Hamel signed as <br />one of the drafters of the docu- <br />ment and General ~lanager <br />James Broderick as an official. <br />The committee \"as formed <br />early in the year as an approach <br />to gather those that expressed <br />concerns regarding "'ater use <br />\,-ithin the basin. <br />The idea of the goals and <br />principles are to proyide guide- <br />lines to aHo\" those \"ithin the <br />basin a template to adhere to for <br />"'ater issues. RRA applies to those landholders/entities that <br />own, lease, or combination of both irrigable land over 240 <br />acres.
