Application for Water Efficiency Grant Program: Colorado Watershed Network
II. Target Audience: Project WET will target school districts, public and private school
teachers, non-formal educators, the home-school community, after school program
providers and scouting leaders through its outreach efforts. In addition, Project WET
will work to expand the knowledge and number of trained facilitators who will provide
water educational resources to this diverse audience.
4. Scope of Work July 1, 2008- June 30, 2010:
I. Hire Regional Water Education Specialist: Education Specialist will be responsible
for supporting Project WET in Western Colorado. Hiring will be complete by
September 2008.

II. Volunteer Management:
Responsible Parties: Project WET Coordinator, Regional Water Education
Specialist and those identified below.
A. Recruit and train new volunteer facilitators
1. Train New Facilitators- Recruit potential new facilitators. Organize
training logistics including food, lodging, substitute teacher
reimbursement and continuing education credit arrangements with
sponsoring university. Conduct two three-day New Facilitator Training
Workshops with WILD and PLT partners. Plan sessions on adult learning
styles, Project overviews, teacher recruitment strategies, and presentation
skills. Projects WET, WILD, and Learning Tree will share costs for
planning and executing workshops. New Facilitator Trainings typically
take place in the spring (Februazy through May) in different locations
throughout Colorado.
CWCB Grant Funds: $ 3,330-Project WET hard costs portion (food,
lodging, facilitator notebooks, Project WET
books, and workshop facilitation supplies
for ~50 people over 2 years)

2. Evaluation- Coordinator and Specialist will communicate with new
facilitators before, during, and after training workshop and provide
feedback mechanisms that will be used to establish and build upon the
existing evaluation process. Revise workshop evaluation form to better
understand teachers needs from professional development workshops and
determine effectiveness of current workshop model. Database will be used
to track facilitators, workshops, and participant evaluations. Evaluation
will be ongoing throughout the duration of the grant.
