3. New Facilitator Mentoring Program_ Coordinator will develop New
Facilitator Mentoring Program to provide continuing support to new
facilitators after New Facilitator Training. Coordinator and Specialist will
connect new facilitators with master facilitators for mentorship
opportunities; provide assistance with logistics for workshop planning,
advertising and teacher recruitment, etc. Ongoing.
CWCB Grant Funds: $ 8,800 (200 hours @ 80% of $SS/hr rate) -
Coordinatorand Specialist
CWN Match: $ 2,200 (20% of hourly rate)
4. Remove Barriers to Participation- Coordinator and Specialist will address
barriers to teachers participating in Project WET workshops and
implementation of Project WET activities in the classroom and engage
current Project WET teachers, facilitators, and others interested in water
education. Continually assess barriers to teacher participation using
workshop evaluation forms and compilation of database findings. Rectify
possible barriers in partnership with facilitators and regional partners. This
task will operate in tandem with task II.A.2.Ongoing.

B. Support existing volunteer facilitators and teachers
1. Facilitator Support- Coordinator and Specialist will communicate with
existing facilitators by mail, a-mail and in person at conferences regarding
program changes and updates, to present the latest information and
materials in the field of water education, and to provide workshop
materials and feedback mechanisms. Encourage facilitators to offer
themed workshops highlighting regional water concerns. Coordinator will
provide facilitators with water-related workshop prizes and giveaway
items, children's books and water resource publications to enhance
workshops and provide teachers with additional tools to teach about water.
This task will be ongoing throughout grant duration.
CWCB Grant Funds: $ 4,440- educational materials (books,
publications, teaching tools and
workshop prizes) to enable facilitators to
better train teachers.
$ 13,200 (300 hours @ 80% of $55/hr rate)-
Coordinator and Specialist will familiarize
existing facilitators in new Project WET and
other water education resources.
CWN Match: $ 3,300 (20% of hourly rate}
2. Coordination of Facilitator Stipends- Volunteer facilitators who are
leading workshops on their personal time have the option of charging $10
per workshop participant as a stipend for planning and facilitating a
Project WET workshop. Coordinator will assist in tracking and
