Northern Colorado pre-service teacher
coordination for Project WET (4 hrs/month).
E. Conferences and Travel- Coordinator will present Project WET materials at
state, regional and national teacher conferences, including the annual
Colorado science, social studies and literacy conferences held in November,
April and February on an annual basis. Represent Colorado at national Project
WET Coordinators conferences in June. Provide resources and support for
water education at workshops and presentations throughout Colorado.
Regional Water Education Specialist will be traveling to facilitate workshops
throughout western Colorado with associated mileage, hotel and meal
expenses.
1. Air Travel- Fly to two national Project WET conferences.
CWCB Grant Funds: $ 1,000 ($500/flight)
2. Hotel Staff- Estimated 44 overnight stays for long-distance trips.
CWCB Grant Funds: $ 4,400 ($100/night)
3. Automobile Travel- Reimbursement costs for an average of 500 miles/mo.
CWCB Grant Funds: $ 6,000 (12,000 miles @ $0.50/mile}
4. Conference Registrations- Present at approximately six conferences.
CWCB Grant Funds: $ 2,000
5. Meals- Estimated four meals/month
CWCB Grant Funds: $ 1,392 (average of $14.50/meal)
6. Conference & Presentation Supplies- Supplies include Project WET
sample books and materials, photo copying, display materials, etc.

IV. Provide materials and resources:
Responsible Party: Colorado Project WET Coordinator and Regional Water
Education Specialist.
A. Teacher Recruitment- Train at least 700 new educators through 24 Project
WET workshops held throughout Colorado. Coordinator and Specialist will
increase teacher recruitment by building relationships with school districts and
developing partnerships with agencies and utilities to offer sponsored
workshops. Assist volunteer facilitators with workshop logistics, teacher
recruitment, and other logistics of training teachers in Project WET materials.
Utilize new partnerships to aid in the recruitment of new facilitators and
teachers. Complete by July of 2010.
