Application for Water Efficiency Grant Program: Colorado Watershed Network <br />CWNMatch: $ 2,200 {20% of hourly rate) <br />UNC Match: $ 5,760 (96 hours @ $60/hr)-University of <br />Northern Colorado pre-service teacher <br />coordination for Project WET (4 hrs/month). <br />E. Conferences and Travel- Coordinator will present Project WET materials at <br />state, regional and national teacher conferences, including the annual <br />Colorado science, social studies and literacy conferences held in November, <br />April and February on an annual basis. Represent Colorado at national Project <br />WET Coordinators conferences in June. Provide resources and support for <br />water education at workshops and presentations throughout Colorado. <br />Regional Water Education Specialist will be traveling to facilitate workshops <br />throughout western Colorado with associated mileage, hotel and meal <br />expenses. <br />1. Air Travel- Fly to two national Project WET conferences. <br />CWCB Grant Funds: $ 1,000 ($500/flight) <br />2. Hotel Staff- Estimated 44 overnight stays for long-distance trips. <br />CWCB Grant Funds: $ 4,400 ($100/night) <br />3. Automobile Travel- Reimbursement costs for an average of 500 miles/mo. <br />CWCB Grant Funds: $ 6,000 (12,000 miles @ $0.50/mile} <br />4. Conference Registrations- Present at approximately six conferences. <br />CWCB Grant Funds: $ 2,000 <br />5. Meals- Estimated four meals/month <br />CWCB Grant Funds: $ 1,392 (average of $14.50/meal) <br />6. Conference & Presentation Supplies- Supplies include Project WET <br />sample books and materials, photo copying, display materials, etc. <br />CWCB Grant Funds: $ 1,200 <br />7. Conference presentations & preparation <br />CWCB Grant Funds: $ 10,560 (240 hours @ 80% of $55/hr rate) - <br />Coordinator <br />CWNMatch: $ 2,640 (20% of hourly rate) <br />IV. Provide materials and resources: <br />Responsible Party: Colorado Project WET Coordinator and Regional Water <br />Education Specialist. <br />A. Teacher Recruitment- Train at least 700 new educators through 24 Project <br />WET workshops held throughout Colorado. Coordinator and Specialist will <br />increase teacher recruitment by building relationships with school districts and <br />developing partnerships with agencies and utilities to offer sponsored <br />workshops. Assist volunteer facilitators with workshop logistics, teacher <br />recruitment, and other logistics of training teachers in Project WET materials. <br />Utilize new partnerships to aid in the recruitment of new facilitators and <br />teachers.
