1 the preparation of revised and improved floodplain studies and maps for
2 communities throughout Colorado and to participate in federally
3 sponsored floodplain map modernization activities.
4 (2) The amounts appropriated in this section are in addition to
5 amounts appropriated previously for the Colorado floodplain map
6 modernization program. The moneys appropriated in subsection (1) of
7 this section shall remain available for the designated purposes until the
8 project is completed.
9 SECTION 13. Continuation of the Colorado flood decision
10 support system -appropriation. (1) In addition to any other
11 appropriation, there is hereby appropriated, out of any moneys in the
12 Colorado water conservation board construction fund not otherwise
13 appropriated, to the department of natural resources, for allocation to the
14 Colorado water conservation board, for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
15 2008, the sum of two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000), or so
16 much thereof as may be necessary, for the board to continue to develop
17 a statewide flood decision support system in order to provide a
18 clearinghouse of flood hazard information, timely and well organized
19 flood outlook data products, weather modification information, stream
20 restoration facts, levee and dam inventories, and other flood-related
21 statistics to be used by a variety of engineers, floodplain managers, and
22 emergency response agencies through an organized web site providing
23 links between data sources, users, and state flood protection staff.
24 (2) The amounts appropriated in this section are in addition to
25 amounts appropriated previously for the Colorado flood decision support
26 system. The moneys appropriated in subsection (1) of this section shall
27 remain available for the designated purposes until the project is
