The major miscellaneous water users within the District
include feedlots, airports, cemeteries, parks, rural schools, golf courses and others. Feedlots are
expected to remain at the current level of approximately 7,000 acre-feet per year. The remaining
miscellaneous water users are anticipated to increase their current water requirement of 10,415
acre-feet annually to approximately 31,245 acre-feet annually (200 percent increase) over the
next 50 years. Total miscellaneous water use requirements are estimated to be approximately
38,245 acre-feet annually (7,000 + 31,245).

IILD.4 Future District Operational Water Requirements
Future operational requirements are assumed to remain at approximately 13 percent of the total
liD volume of water passing Pilot Knob or approximately 15.3 percent of the combined water
requirements for agriculture, M&I, and miscellaneous other water uses (see Chapter lII.CA).
Based on this assumption, the projected annual operational water requirement in 2045 is 410,750
acre-feet [(Ag. water requirement + M&I req. + Feedlot req. + Misc. req.)x 0.153] (see Table
1II.D.5-1). However, two current water conservation programs, scheduled for completion after
1995, may reduce the estimated District operational water requirement in 2045.

liD and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) entered into a water
conservation agreement in December, 1990, providing for water conservation projects within nD
to save an estimated 106,110 acre-feet of water annually. Most of the lID/MWD projects were
completed during 1990-1994 and are reflected in the current water use analysis presented above.
However, two major projects will be completed in 1996 and are not reflected in current use
numbers. The Mulberry-D Lateral Interceptor will conserve an estimated 15,100 acre-feet of
District operational water per year. The Trifolium Interceptor will conserve an estimated 17,200
acre-feet of operation water per year for an estimated total reduction in future District operational
water requirements of 32,300 acre-feet per year.

Draft: Subject To Revision 12/21/95

27
