I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

IID, MWD and the United States Department of the Interior have agreed in principle to replace a
23 mile section of the All-American Canal between Pilot Knob and Drop 4 with a concrete lined
channel. The All-American Canal lining project will conserve an estimated 67,000 acre-feet of
operational losses. Therefore, the projected operational water requirement in 2045 is estimated
to be 311,447 acre-feet per year (410,747 - 32,300- 67,000).

IILD.5 Existing Transfer Agreements
In 2032, lID will regain control of the 106,110 acre-feet of water per year made available by the
lID/MWD water conservation programs. This water will then be potentially available for
marketing to other Colorado River water users.

In addition, in 2057 lID will regain control of the 67,000 acre-feet of water estimated to be
conserved by the All-American Canal lining project. Until that time, under 1964 Supreme Court
decree accounting, water conserved within the lID and transferred to other Colorado River water
users will be charged as a diversion by lID.

On December 19, 1995, the lID Board of Directors elected not to extend the lID/MWD All-
American Canal lining agreement beyond December 31, 1995.

III.D.6 Total Future Water Requirements
The projection oftotal water requirements in the year 2045 for the District are determined by the
summation of the various components previously discussed. Table III.D.5-1 summarizes the
projected future water requirements for each component. The projected total water requirement
within the District in 2045 is 2,996,068 acre-feet of Colorado River water per year, g any
additional water conservation. The total water requirement of the District in 2045 is estimated at
3,169,178 acre-feet per year.

Draft: Subject To Revision 1/2/96

28
