Harold Evans: Do I understand that Blackhawk would be able to help <br />fund this? <br />Chuck: Yes, we are confident we can get the money raised. <br />2) Pinewood Springs Water District: <br />Has presented both in January and February (See application emailed in <br />previous months as well as previous minutes): <br />Erin Aswood: representative of engineering firm working with Pinewood <br />Springs: <br />Background: First plats were filed in 1959 with wells and a distribution <br />systems for domestic use only; district created in 1978; water aug plan <br />establishes build out of 350 residences; <br />Current conditions: 266 single family homes and 2 restaurants; 62 gpm <br />water treatment plant on Little Thompson River; 15 miles of transmission <br />and distribution water lines; no raw water storage; <br />In 2000: Little Thomson River ran dry; without raw water storage, potable <br />water was required to be hauled; Total cost: $400,000 for 2000; most part, <br />burden of residents; <br />Little Thompson has nut dry every year since 2000. <br />District has taken pro-active approach: limited water usage: no outside <br />watering; usages 6000 per household or 3000 during dry periods <br />Drought Mitigation Planning: Diversion, pump station and reservoir <br />within the District. <br />Estimate of costs: $3.884 nullion (does not include water purchase) <br />Loans from CWCB and Colorado Water Resources and Power <br />Development <br />Project deficit: $200,000-does not include purchase of water <br />Current project is more expensive than originally planned-various <br />reasons <br />Currently has 16 acft in dry year; in process of joining NCWCD. <br />Benefits: no outside water; domestic usage; promote water conservation; <br />district citizens have supported project; hauling of water adds <br />environmental costs; a reservoir increase system flexibility. <br />Questions: <br />Jerke: How many homes? <br />300, estimate of build-out. <br />Emphasis on aug plan: no home can use more than 6000 gallons per <br />month legally; our limit of 3000 is per district <br />Shinullin: RE: water rights that will fill this bucket you are building; <br />previously you spoke about leasing water rights, what is the update? <br />To clarify; 42 acft plus of conditional storage right for the reservoir; 7 <br />shares = 16 acft of water that is exchangeable; in joining the NCWCD will <br />allow us to purchase water shares; part of this grant money would be to <br />purchase water shares; any fiends after constn~ction, we will turn to <br />purchasing water shares. <br />6 <br />
