Streeter: Would May be a bit early?
Wilkinson: Mid June would be better because we would see a more robust
river; lots to see; recreational in-channel diversion in Steamboat; key people
to get on the tour; but letting them setup the agenda would be important.
Sasha Charney: Per State Funding: if the state fiulds this then perhaps state
could fund them coming over to South Platte for our water education tour in
June.
John Metli: Agrees with Charney and opines that we need to continue the
process.
Harold Evans: We need to take the iiutiative to go see them first; we should
go see them first before inviting them here. Keep focus that we want to
extend branch to them first.
Jerke: yes, mention to them our tour but go to them first.
Tom Iseman: Have not had chance to tallc to Nature Conservancy colleague
on Yampa Roundtable; we would want a tour of the Carpenter Ranch on the
Yampa Ranch; other item that is important: endangered fish along the Yampa
and Colorado and need a stop so we could talk about this.
Jerke: Yes, we need to be able to discuss all of the issues. Therefore, if this
seems wise to get them a letter that they can submit to their membership for
April 17, would like to work with Eric Wilkinson to draft letter; Jerke offers
to take lead in writing letter.
John Stencil: Voices approval along with others.
Re: Gunnison River Follow-up:
Jerke: August would perhaps be best time to follow up with a trip to
Gunnison; anticipate an overnight trip; Weld County building will not be
available in August so need to have meeting elsewhere for August anyway;
their meetings are in Montrose or Gunnison; we will pursue this later; keep in
mind that they have come to visit us, we need to visit them and keep
communication up.
III. Water Supply Reserve Account (WSRA):
Presentations from Applicants Seeking Roundtable Approval.
Jerke: Five presentations, some of these have already been presented; best to
hear all five presentations and eat diiuler before we vote. Then after dinner
presentation from Dave Miller of the Central Colorado Project, then we come
back for discussion and vote; comments?
Fred Walker: Time limit?
Jerke: About 10 nunutes per presentation.
1) Georgetown and Blackhawk Water Storage in Georgetown Lake:
See application emailed by IBCC on Tuesday, March 4.
Presented in January (see January minutes):
In summary: $150,000 from South Platte Basin Account.
Fred Walker: Is this all or nothing?
No: we understand you have limited funds.
5
