At these dimensions, the capacity of the reservoir could be in <br />the range of900 to 1,000 acre-feet <br /> <br />The dam would be constructed in accordance with all of the Colorado Division of <br />Water Resources (State Engineer) dam design criteria. Based on preliminary <br />investigations, it is proposed to construct a homogeneous eartJ,--fdl dam with a <br />conventional cutoff trench into the dam foundation. To control seepage, consideration <br />will be given to the construction of a chimney drain and sand filter blanket. <br />Preliminary analysis indicates instaHation of a 21-inch diameter outlet. <br /> <br />Given the relatively smaH size of the tributary drainage basin (1.48 square miles), the <br />Probable Maximum Flood is expected to be of comparatively small volume. <br />Accordingly, consideration will be given to either (1) constructing a conventional open- <br />channel emergency spiUway or (2) building the dam large enough to fully store and <br />contain the PMP flood volume in conjunction with a nominal sized service spillway. <br /> <br />Water Right: CFS.
