Questions:
--Mike Shimmin: We did not receive this application via email one
week prior;
--Stern: I sent this to Viola and Eric Hecox; we will not be doing this
project until later this summer; thus, we do not want to hurry the
roundtable.
--Bill Jerke: We need to become aware of how much money is left in
these accounts: See Water Supply Reserve Account Sunullary:
Remaining is $440,000; Jerke suggests that we hear all applications
before voting on any item.
Reminder that to apply for Statewide account the project needs to
impact state.
We camlot act on this tonight because we have not received this
previously.
2) Pinewood Springs Water District
Mark Upton with Water District; reviews presentation from October;
has emailed application to all members. In process of building 424
reservoir in Pinewood Springs; needs money to complete dam
portion of the project; rumling short because of review of state
engineer that raised cost from 1.2 million to 2.2 million; requesting
up to $400,000 or any portion thereof in this application.
Major benefit to basin: storage right of 32 acre feet: has joined
Northern CO Basin District; objective is to acquire shares so that the
water is released directly to system.
--Les Williams: Have you looked at the cost of acquiring 32 acre feet
of water?
--Mark: Yes, the components include the reservoir, piping, water
from Little Thompson, We knew that we could store the water and
thus secured water storage rights, and then looking to make water
exchanges in the system.
--Mike Shimmin: To fill this water, you still need to buy 42 acft of
CBT water? Your native water rights are very junior. The only way
to fill this reservoir you need to buy CBT water. $600,000 in water.
Where will that money come from?
--Mark: We were advised that it would cost about $400,000. We
were told that we have the right to store the water but don't have the
right to keep the water when being called.
--Jerke: Can Big T water be used as aug?
--No... can be used as exchange.
--Shimmin: We are being asked to invest state funds in a bucket that
they can't afford to fill.
--Mark: Our intent is to lease the shares until we can afford to buy
the shares.
9
