Castle Rock Synthetic Turf Project <br />Application for Water Efficiency Grant <br />De liz~erub les <br />The contractor(s) will complete all construction activities in accordance with the final <br />design, construction specifications, and necessary change orders. All Town approvals <br />and final document of recordation shall be submitted. <br />Task 4 -Public Education <br />Purpose <br />This task involves public education regarding the Synthetic Turf Field Project. Castle <br />Rock plans to highlight the benefits of synthetic turf fields emphasizing the <br />importance of water conservation. Information will be distributed to the public <br />through a sign posted on-site summarizing the project, Castle Rock's water <br />conservation website, through local TV shows, the local newspaper, and through the <br />water wise community classes. <br />Roles and Responsibilities <br />Castle Rock's community relations department will take the lead n1 coordinating and <br />developing the materials needed for public education activities associated with the <br />Elementary School #45 synthetic turf project. <br />De liz~erab les <br />Castle Rock will distribute information summarizing the Synthetic Turf Project and <br />highlighting the water conservation benefits through the following media: <br />^ On-site project signage -Sign(s) will be posted at the project site promoting water <br />conservation and explaining the water saving benefits of the synthetic turf field. <br />Examples of signs used in the past are provided in Attachment B. <br />^ Local newspapers -Castle Rock will seek to have an article published in the local <br />newspaper (Douglas County News-Press) and Your HUB (a division of the Denver <br />Newspaper Agency) during the construction phase. <br />^ Douglas County Charu1e18 and Castle Rock View - A short promotion of the <br />synthetic turf field will be shown periodically following construction. <br />^ Town's water conservation website -Information on the Synthetic Turf Project will <br />be posted. <br />^ Other Town published communications -Includes the Town Talk newsletter which <br />is distributed monthly to all water customers, the Outlook newsletter which is <br />distributed quarterly, and HOA newsletters. <br />^ Water-wise workshop -General information on the benefits of synthetic turf fields <br />and water conservation will be provided at workshops. The Synthetic Turf Project <br />will serve as a specific case study for discussion. <br />15 <br />
