AdditionallJa!tnerships that don't lead to <br />direct sponsorsrnpof the state program but have or arc likely to result in l()calized and in-depth <br />.Pr()ject WET workshops include the Walking 'Through the Water Y car (with CoColtaHS - <br />Community C:ollaborativ'e Rain, Hail & Snow N etwo!k, P()udre School I)istrict, and the <br />Colorado Water Res()utces Research Institute), j\mcrican Grollndwater rrrust, Cherry Creek <br />Ste\vardship Partners, I)cn'vcr Zoo (for a training in Rifle SpOtlsQ,red by Encana), Regis <br />'University's Col()rado Springs campus, F,'ront l:tange Earth 'Force, andF'ort I,jc\vis College in <br />Durango. <br />t"fcachcrs participating in these sponsored IJroject WET workshops have consistently <br />commented that they are the "best professional development workshop I've attended," or that <br />"I learned so much about water conservation, now I'll be able to ans,ver the questions from my <br />family, frien(ls and students al)ollt where our water CO.mes from." <br />C\VN and the Colorado IJroject \VET Coordinator have been able to secure several grants to <br />provide matching funds for\~tater edtlcation w'orkshops aroun(l C:olorado. ~I\hc table below <br />describes the grant funds and their source, as \vell as future matching funds from proposed <br />sponsored \vorkshop partnerships which \viII take place in Z008. <br /> <br />Table 3. These volunteer facilitators are the <br />heart anel soul ()f our programs; they are the face on the ground that interact with teachers and <br />workshop participants and provide localized applications ()f the Project WET materials. <br />Over 80 volunteer fa.cilitators were honored for their contribution to the pr()h"fam and <br />received additional professional development at the ann.ual Facilitators I~eadership C:onference. <br />~rhe conference took place in S110wmass Village Ot1 September 28~30, 2007 and was joindy <br />sponsored by the Colorado \X1atershed .Nct\vork, the C:olorado l)ivision of Wildlife and the <br />Colorado State Forest Service. All volunteer facilitators received at least ZOhou.rs of continuing <br />professional development and updates ()u ne\v developments with l)roject WET. Facilitators <br />\vcre appreciated for their contl.tlued voltlnteer SC1'lice to Projects 'WE'll, WILD and Learning <br />~l~ree and several outstan(ling facilitators received further recognition and a\va.rds. <br /> <br />Page 3 <br />
