(the Construction Fund exists primarily to <br />provide low interest !vans for the construction or rehabilitation of raw water projects. Non- <br />rrimbursable investments are approved only when the project or Study is of statewide interest and <br />benefits n wtde range of people and organizations, ,and ur a large geo~raphtcal area . <br />This is a study of Statewide interest benefiting all the citizens of the Stag that rely in whole <br />or in part on water diverted Gem the Colorado [liver, The recent drought conditions and <br />increasing demands have demonstrates! that a curtailment of uses of Colorado River water is <br />possible. "I he State of Colorado needs to have a plan for curtailing its uses of Colorado River <br />1~'ater in an orderly and equitable frshion should the need arise. 1~hc ('requency and potential <br />amounts ofcurtailment will be identified as part of the ongoing Colorado River Water <br />Availability study. The purpose of this effort will be to locate the wafer rights subject to <br />curtailment, identify the issues associated with curtailment and evaluate potential methods of <br />curtailment.
